Rollercoaster Rescue After Ride Gets Stuck

Seventeen adults and seven children are trapped for five hours after the ride grinds to a halt at the top of the tracks.

Firefighters have successfully rescued 24 people from a rollercoaster in Maryland, US, after it became stuck near the top of the ride.
The alarm was raised after the Joker's Jinx rollercoaster ground to a standstill at Six Flags America.
It took about five hours to rescue 17 adults and seven children from the ride.
Assistant Fire Chief Paul Gomez said the riders were sitting upright during the rescue.
A Six Flags America spokesman said in a statement that it was not yet clear what caused the ride to stop.
He added that the ride had a computerised safety system that "performed as it is designed to".
